FORMATION OF THE WATER USED FOR WATERING ANIMALS IN THE SOUTHERN BIOGEOCHEMICAL ZONE OF UKRAINE

Abstract

The article analyzes the formation of water, which is used for watering animals on the farms of the southern biogeochemical zone of Ukraine. It is given the sanitary and hygienic estimation of water sources. There were investigated sanitary and hygienic safety and quality of drinking water. There was found that the sanitary protection zones on the farm near water intake were absent. The authors believe that this may promote bacterial contamination of underground water. There was established that as to the chemical composition of fresh water it had increased mineralization due to bicarbonate and sodium content and may be classified as the second type. There was also found that mercury and manganese content exceeds the maximum permissible concentration.
